In a significant political move, former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar on Monday has officially registered as a member of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in his hometown.
The event, which took place in Ward 1, Jada, Adamawa State, saw Atiku collect his official party membership card amidst a tumultuous welcome from a massive crowd of supporters.
He was accompanied by a high-powered delegation, including former Adamawa State Governor Bindow Umaru Jibrilla, Senators Aishatu Dahiru Binani and Ishiaku Abbo, alongside other key political stakeholders and associates.
Addressing the mammoth crowd, Atiku Abubakar issued a rallying cry, urging Nigerians to join the ADC to build a “formidable” force for the 2027 general elections.
The former Vice-President, visibly elated by the reception, pledged to wrestle power from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
He declared to Nigerians that “the time for change has come.”
This move solidifies the ADC’s position as a key opposition party, as it forges a broad coalition aimed at challenging the APC in the upcoming 2027 polls.
