It was a joyful occasion as staff of Radio Nigeria Positive FM Akure celebrated the immediate past General Manager of Radio Nigeria Ogo-Ilu FM , who recently retired , Mr. Segun Akanmu.
Mr. Akanmu, accompanied by his wife, children, and friends elegantly dressed entered the venue at the broadcast station with dancing.
One after the other, the former colleagues of Mr. Akanmu at Positive FM related how he had touched them positively in one way or the other describing him as compassionate, generous, sincere , kind and cheerful.
In a goodwill message , a guest on the occasion and General Manager Fresh FM Akure , Mr. Dokun Ladele, commended Mr. Akanmu for his doggedness and selfless service to Radio Nigeria over the years.
Also speaking, the Acting General Manager , Positive FM , Mr. Steve Omonagbe, described Mr. Akanmu as a hardworking professional who trained and mentored many young broadcasters, helping them grow to become stars in the broadcast industry.
In a response, an elated Mr. Akanmu appreciated Radio Nigeria for the opportunity to serve and thanked his former colleagues for the honor.
The celebrant promised to continue making positive impact in the broadcast industry even in retirement
The highlight of the occasion was the presentation of gifts to the celebrant, cultural performances by the Ondo State Cultural Troupe, and traditional poem delivered by Mr. Akanmu alongside his long time friend , colleague and the Head of OB and Sports, Mr. Sukanmi Taiwo, which thrilled the audience.
