A standoff has ensued as a rent tribunal sitting in Akure the Ondo State capital enforced a court order evicting a tenant from a property at Old GRA, Alagbaka in Akure the Ondo State capital.
Report says the tenant who is the Commander , National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, Ondo State, Mr. Nanzing Sallah did not honor an earlier agreement made with him to vacate the property at an agreed date.

Mr. Sallah had initially challenged the tribunal’s jurisdiction but later agreed to settle with the terms ruled by the tribunal.
The rent tribunal representative, Mrs Modupe Funmilayo, explained that the case had been ongoing for over six months during which the tribunal granted the landlord , Mrs Olubukola Alabi the possession of the property .
Mrs. Alabi had told the tribunal she needed the property for personal use.

The atmosphere became chaotic when tribunal officials arrived to lock up the premises but were prevented by NDLEA officers .
The situation was however brought under control with the intervention of the police and the tribunal Chief Registrar.
The standoff was later resolved after counsel to the defendant , Mr Dominic Eke swore an affidavit on behalf of the tenant including an undertaken to deliver possession of the property by the new deadline of February 20, 2026.#
