The Ondo State Police Command, under the leadership of the Commissioner of Police, continues to intensify security engagements across the state through strategic assessments and strengthened stakeholder collaboration aimed at enhancing public safety.

In compliance with the directive of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, PhD, NPM, mandating all Commissioners of Police nationwide to ensure the safety and protection of schools, critical infrastructure, key government assets, and all police facilities, the Commissioner of Police today embarked on a comprehensive assessment tour of important facilities within the state.

 

During these engagements with relevant stakeholders, he reviewed the existing security arrangements and underscored the need for continuous improvement to guarantee the safety and welfare of all persons utilizing these public institutions. He affirmed that His Excellency, Hon. Dr. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, Governor of Ondo State, is working assiduously to enhance security and welfare measures across these critical assets and that modalities are underway to strengthen the existing security infrastructure in line with this commitment.

Building on this mission, the Commissioner of Police also visited all police facilities and formations in and around the Akoko area of Ondo State. He interacted with officers and management personnel, assessed the security architecture on ground, and commended the personnel for their dedication and professionalism. He further pledged to improve on the existing security structures to enhance operational efficiency and ensure continued protection of lives and property.

 

To consolidate these efforts, the Commissioner directed all tactical teams, Area Commands, and Divisional Police Headquarters covering the aforementioned areas to conduct regular supervisory visits and provide detailed situational reports to the Command. This proactive measure is aimed at sustaining vigilance, strengthening coordination, and ensuring the early detection of emerging security concerns.

In continuation of his tour, the Commissioner proceeded to the Ondo–Edo border at Eti Ose community to inspect ongoing security operations. He applauded the officers and men on duty for their resilience and reassured them of his unwavering commitment to supporting their efforts in safeguarding the state.

 

The Command expresses profound appreciation to the Inspector-General of Police for his strategic leadership, consistent support, and steadfast commitment to advancing effective policing initiatives in Ondo State.
