The 38 persons who were recently abducted in an attack on Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) Eruku, Ekiti Local government area of Kwara state have regained freedom.
In a statement governor AbdulRazaq spokesman Rafiu Ajakaye says the success was recorded due to the hands-on approach of President Bola Tinubu, who personally led the efforts to free the abductees.
It says the abductees were freed on Sunday, adding that the state government is immensely grateful to President Bola Tinubu, for his direct initiative that made this happen.
It explains that the President had directed heightened security deployments to the state indicating his firm commitment to the safety and wellbeing of the people and Nigerians as a whole.
The statement also expresses appreciation to the Office of the National Security Adviser;and the security agencies for the deployment of four new tactical teams to the State on the directive of the President.
